Maintenance Technician

The SIC is responsible for assisting the PIC as directed and shall assume the duties of PIC in the event of PIC incapacitation. Sterling Aviation policy requires that the SIC act as a strong, supporting member of the cockpit team. In that capacity the SIC is required to question or comment on PIC actions or decisions that the SIC believes might compromise the safety of flight. Assignment as SIC recognizes a demonstration of willingness to discharge the duties of the SIC by:
a.      Maintaining a high level of professional skill through training programs and self-study.
b.      Complying with the contents of SOP’s, FAR’s and other state and local regulations that may apply to the  operation of the aircraft.
c.       Complying with procedures for the operation of Sterling Aviation aircraft as written in the Flight Operations Manual, approved training program and the AFM for the aircraft to be flown.
 
a.       Will promote safety, security and quality throughout the company.
b.      Assume a joint responsibility along with the PIC for the safety and comfort of the passengers as well as establishing customer goodwill.
c.       At the direction of the PIC, preflight the aircraft thoroughly before and after each flight in accordance with the AFM.
d.      Assist the PIC with preflight planning as directed.
e.      Ensure protection of the passengers during enplaning and deplaning.
f.        Ensure the proper loading of passenger baggage and cargo.
g.       Ensure that performance, navigation charts, manuals and checklists are onboard.
h.      Ensure appropriate request for, or implementation of, checklists.
i.        Supervise the fueling process to ensure the proper type and quantity of fuel has been uploaded and that proper procedures are utilized during the fueling process.
j.        Ensures the cabin is setup correctly and clean. Assist ground crews or complete servicing of the cabin including catering, beverages, newspapers, magazines, cleaning, etc. Assists passengers with ground transportation.
k.       Ensure all passenger special request items (catering, beverages, newspapers, magazines etc) as listed on the passenger manifest are onboard.
l.        Ensure that all applicable aircraft documents, publications and aircraft equipment are on board the aircraft and in current form.
m.    At the discretion of the PIC, complete and submit flight paperwork.
n.      Perform cockpit duties as directed by the PIC.
o.      Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the PIC to ensure the successful completion of the flight.
 
Minimum Qualifications / Special Skills and Certifications:
 
o        ATP
o        CE650 or BE400 Type rating
o        FSI part 135 recurrent within last 12 months in CE650 or BE400
o        Must reside within a 90 minute drive from MKE
o        2,500 Total Time – Fixed wing
o        1,500 Multi Engine Land
o        500 Pilot In Command – Fixed Wing
o        100 Pilot In Command - Multi Engine Land - Fixed Wing
o        150 Hours In Actual Instrument Conditions
o        100 Hours Turbine Engine – Fixed Wing
o        200 Hours in type
