Types of Charter

Making a quick business trip to a remote manufacturing site? Traveling with several members of your staff on a tight timetable? Looking to take your family on a much-anticipated vacation? Traveling to your second home in a community not served by commercial flights? Private aircraft charter enables you to do all this and more, with unmatched convenience, efficiency, comfort and safety.

Whether your needs are dominated by round-trips, one-ways or any combination in between, Sterling’s locally based advisers can develop a program to match – with the unique Sterling personal touch and none of the rigidity of many national programs.

Based on the number of hours flown annually and your other requirements, you may select from these Sterling charter programs:

On-demand charter

The most flexible alternative and widely used by those who charter occasionally. No capital investment or contracts. Pay-as-you-go convenience.

Block charter programs

Lower hourly rates depending upon the level of commitment. Sterling offers four levels of annual charter flight hour commitment: 25, 50 or 100 hours per year block charter programs or the Sterling Club.

How Sterling block charter works: A primary aircraft type and flight hour commitment are declared. Our block charter clients make a 50% deposit for the computed value of the flight time. For each trip, the remaining 50% of the flight time charges as well as any non-in-flight costs such as ground transportation, airport fees, taxes or catering are invoiced upon trip completion.

Sterling Club

Exclusive program offers access to all aircraft in our charter fleet at very special rates. Because we choose not to oversell fleet capacity, Sterling Club membership is limited.

How Sterling Club works: Sterling Club members commit to an annual dollar amount, paid in quarterly installments. Then, members simply schedule trips, and all charges – flight-related or for non-flight items – are deducted from their account balances.

An account status statement is provided after each trip. If the value of the annual dollar commitment is reached before the year is out, members have the option of executing a new Sterling Club agreement at the original club rates until the initial annual term is reached.

For both block charter or Sterling Club clients, we offer exclusive access to a Sterling-funded “jet card” for flights originating and concluding away from Milwaukee.
