Fleet Expands to 10
Including Large-Cabin Challenger
Sterling Aviation is pleased to offer a fleet of 10 top- quality
aircraft to meet a wide variety of business and personal air
charter needs.
Our most recent fleet additions include a large-cabin Challenger
601-3A (top two photos), which offers a nine- passenger range of
more than 3,600 statute miles; two seven-passenger small-cabin
jets, a Beechjet 400A and a Beechjet Diamond 1A (bottom two
photos); plus a seven- passenger King Air B200 turboprop.
“The Milwaukee-based Challenger, in particular, provides Sterling’s
charter customers an enhanced level of wide-cabin luxury, amenities
and non-stop transatlantic range,” said Roger Banaszak, vice
president of marketing and sales. “The addition of this
aircraft represents an important step toward offering worldwide
flight operations for our charter customers throughout the Midwest and beyond.”
The Beechjet aircraft, both based in Milwaukee, have been updated with
new exterior paint and the Diamond’s interior was completely
refinished in May of 2005. The Kenosha-based King Air is a low time
late 2004 model in superb condition and equipped with a Collins Pro
Line 21 advanced avionics suite. “In every way, these
aircraft provide the comfort, safety and amenities that embody what
has come to be known as ‘The Sterling
Experience,’” Banaszak said.
Other Sterling aircraft available
for charter include a Hawker 800XP long-range jet, a fleet of four
Citation III mid- cabin jets, and a Citation Ultra small-cabin jet.

Aviation Donates Airlift for Special Olympics
Sterling Aviation, in partnership with Cessna Aircraft
Company, airlifted Special Olympics participants from the national
games held July 2-7 at Iowa
State University. The airlift
included 400 Citation jets that transported more than 2,500 Special
Olympics athletes and coaches across the nation to and from the
games. Sterling Aviation participated in the airlift on July 8,
transporting eight Alaskan athletes from the Special Olympics site
in Iowa to Minneapolis, where the athletes
boarded a commercial flight.
Corporations and individual Citation owners and
operators from 35 states participated in the airlift, donating
aircraft time, fuel and pilots. This is the first time athletes
from Alaska
have been able to participate in the nationals. At the height of
airlift activity, a Special Olympics Citation landed or took off
every 60-90 seconds.

Airlift please visit www.citationairlift.com.

Aviation Supports Boys and Girls Club
Sterling Aviation helped raise $5,200 for the Boys and Girls Clubs
of Greater Milwaukee through a special silent auction donation
during the club’s annual Transformations Fashion Show, in
June. Sterling donated a once-in-a lifetime trip that included not
only air travel on a Cessna Citation III, but also the unique
opportunity to participate in the TCF Bank Air Expo one of the
world’s premier air show’s held every July in
Milwaukee.
Our jet performed two fly-by passes over Milwaukee’s lakefront while
hundreds of thousands of show attendees watched. After the fly-by,
the Sterling aircraft continued over Lake Michigan and landed in Muskegon.
There, our guests enjoyed dinner in Grand Haven and a beautiful
evening return flight to Milwaukee.

Meet Our
People
Rob Gort, President
Rob Gort, President and Chief
Operating Officer of Sterling Aviation, was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father worked,
under guard, on the “Tel-Star Project” as an Electrical
Engineer for Ma Bell. At the age of 7, Rob and his family moved to San Francisco
where they still hold roots. Rob's mother devoted herself to
raising Rob and his sister and brother. At age 45 she earned her
teaching degree from the San
Francisco State
University.
Rob's aviation background consists of twenty-eight years experience
in managing, flying and maintaining business aircraft in both
charter and corporate operations. His first solo was in 1973. He
currently has accumulated over 14,000 + hours of accident and
incident free flying, which has earned him several NBAA Corporate Flight
Department Safety awards. One in particular is the NBAA 12,000 Hour
Accident/ Incident Free Pilot-In-Command Safety Award.
Prior to Sterling Aviation, Rob was the Director of Operations and
Chief Pilot for 10 years at Leeson Electric, a corporate flight
department owned by Chris
and Dan Doerr. Two years ago, an opportunity arose and the Doerr
brothers purchased a well-established charter company changing its
name to Sterling Aviation. Rob became President and Chief Operating
Officer, adding to his extensive list of credentials.
Rob holds a Bachelors Degree in Aeronautics from the School of Engineering
at San Jose
State University. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
seeking an MBA in Corporate Aviation Management. He is a certified
Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with Inspector Authorization (IA).
He is also certified as a Flight and Ground Instructor as well as a
Flight Engineer (Boeing 727 United Airlines).
Believe it or not, Rob does have some spare time in which he enjoys
boating and golfing. Rob has numerous responsibilities, but the
most important is raising his daughter.
